reading

1. what i find  the most interesting about these pages is when he says that yo should look for soundbites that give you a lump in your throat not just for sad but for happy emotions as well and for even man and that it should stick in the viewers memory. before he talked about carrying a notebook with you so you could write down various things, he said it again just in case you need ideas you can look through the notebook. what really stuck with me about storytelling is when he said that you should not get hung up on a title like his friend even though he did not consider himself a story teller he tell the story other ways.

2. the story i watched was called "89-year-old librarian spreads passion for books" and the original air date was 6:25 PM, Mar 4, 2013

3.there was natural sound when she was walking up to the old school house(wind), her footsteps on the the snow, when she was trying to open the door, and when she was flipping the pages of the notebook

4.i like the shot where she is at her desk and the camera mans across the room. the shot where of the book shelves and books. the one where she is talking and the camera is behind a book shelve and the one of the labels on the shelves

5.ex teacher keeps library open in freezing weather

6.in the story it uses "pictures" because it has sequences in the story. for example when she takes out the notebook and starts flipping through the pages and starts talking about it to. it also has silence before she says that she does it so people could expand their learning, she pauses before she says it.at the beginning of the story it uses natural sound  (the wind and her footsteps) then she talks and then they play more natural sound, then the reporter, then natural sound again. it uses "words" that stick with you when she says that the book could be returned when ever the person is done reading them

I watched the video of “The Art of Bow making”. I noticed that in this particular story there were allot of close and medium shots and many angled shots, as well as allot of low shots. For the most part it would have one or two close ups an angled and a low, then a medium. when he was working on the bow, I noticed that there was no reporter stands up, but there was an interview. I also saw that there was a bit of camera movement, the camera was not completely still. Although it was not distracting and did not detract from the story. It was interesting to see how they used movement to enhance the mood of the shots. Also when they were showing his work place, his tools etc it seemed like they were pictures and they slowly zoomed in or out
